It's a very nice park with beautiful old live oaks, pristine beach, nice rangers, and an interesting abandoned old mansion to tour. I can't compare it to Myrtle Beach State Park since we haven't stayed there. But the beach access is fairly easy at HB. Some of the sites are near a walkway leading over to it.
