Head Room Help

Hello All! I am new to the forum but not new to RVing. I currently have a TT. I am looking at 5ers and have a lot of concerns with the head room in the raised portion of the camper. I am 6'8" tall, I know pretty tall! The only brand I have found to have enough head room is the Cedar Creek. It is 6'9". Does anyone know what brands or models have at least 6'9" in the raised portion? I don't want to offend anyone but a comment like "my husband is tall and he has plenty of room" will not help me any. I would really like to have the measured height. What makes it worse is that I cannot find this spec in the literature. Thanks

    I am 6'7" and we went with the Brinkley Z3100.  It is 6'7" in the upper deck.  I can sympathize with you.  Columbus has an 84" ceiling height but the reviews are not great.  Good luck!

    I'm 6'9" and have an Open Range Roamer 347RES. I don't know the exact measurements but I don't have any problems with headroom in my upstairs bedroom or in the dining or living room slides.

    Full profile 5th wheels.....taller head room in bedroom area/forward area

    Mid profile 5ht wheels......forward area ceiling height decreases

    My first thought was that you had not checked many units out. Just doesn't seem to be an issue to a sub 2-yarder like myself. So I measured.

    The tallest clearance in our bed room is right at 6-8. At the LR/BR bulkhead, the door clearance is only about 6-6. About mid-bed, the front tapers down for aerodynamics. Did not measure, since there are cabinets and stuff that made it irrelevant.

    Keep in mind that this is a half-ton rated "Lite" unit, with highway clearance of 12-2. Lots of units out there are near the DOT limit of 13-6.

    You would really hate our unit. The bathroom door is only 6-2!!! But I think there are plenty of units that you will like if you get out there and start shopping.

    A lot of the units I have looked at have been about 6'7" or less which is fairly tall just not tall enough for me. I will check out the Open Range and am curious about the Momentum 376th which I will call about tomorrow. Thanks to those that commented.

    So trailers are limited to 13'6" overall height. So if you have a lot of headroom in the bedroom you are giving up something somewhere else. I just measured our 2017 Bighorn 3575el that is 13' 4" high and bedroom is 6'4", and this is on a high profile trailer.

    Interesting to think about. Assuming the overhang area is approximately the same distance from the ground, one would think the 13-4 coach would have more head room than the 12-2 coach. But the larger coach has a frame with more cross section, taller tires, possibly taller leaf springs, possibly thicker roof trusses. The basement storage may be taller too. We only have two steps up into the bedroom, where others might have 3.

    I also agree with the OP. That ceiling clearance would be a nice specification to have in the brochures, but I've never seen one. RV's are like everything else-designed for middle of the road buyers. No effort made to fit dwarfs or the extra tall.

    Everything is a trade off, we have three step to the up deck, and giant basement. Even if I was taller, I would not trade off the storage, full high profile roof line, for a little more head room in the bedroom. I am only standing up in the upper deck for a short time each day.

    I look forward to everyone's comments. I am looking at mostly front living due to wanting the bathroom and shower in the rear (taller area). I agree that I don't need extra room but if I am spending 60k plus I would like to be able to stand up. I haven't even brought up the fact yet that I have a Harley and want to be able to haul it. I am not wanting the full garage as in most toy haulers. I am very intrigued with the GD Momentum 476TH. I put a call in them today to find out about headroom.
