Heated city water hose

neighbor did this last year and flooded his RV with black water. Turns out his bathroom sink connected to the black tank which was closed. Make sure you use a faucet and sink connected to an open gray water tank.

I did that at Lake Tahoe a couple of years ago. I left the fresh supply tricking and also my bathroom vanity sink trickling. Worked well.

Big RV such as yours can go days on the tank and that's safer than using any hose and bib in 20s weather.

If the internal water system from tank to faucet is within an exterior climate isolated area, you probably would have absolutely no worry about freezing.

If you have an external heated hose connected to the city water bid and to your RV, you have the potential of freezing at the bid or trailer connection.

So you can do what you know probably wont be an issue or take a chance on what could be an issue. Your call.

In freezing temperatures, I use the internal system. I use the external only to top off the internal thus reducing any chances of a problem.

Probably not for an exposed hose. Even if the fresh water keeps flowing there is still a good chance your waste connection will freeze.

Some campgrounds will charge the RVer if the campground supply faucet gets damaged by freezing water.

Put water in your tank, shut off spigot and drain hose, use pump. Now you don't have to worry about the temp or busted pipe or much else.

When it gets cold where we are.......the heated hose gets hooked up!
