Help with bunkhouse models

I've done a search and haven't come up with what I need.

We are a family of four looking to go full time for a few years.

I am looking for used bunkhouse fifth wheels (under $20k) that have all of the following:
Quad rear bunkhouse
Slide master bedroom
Enclosed shower (either side aisle bath, or toilet/shower room)
Basement storage

The closest I have come are these:
2005 Keystone Cougar 314EFS (no master slide, in 2006 and later they did the open shower?)
2007 Jayco Eagle 325BHS (would love this if it weren't for the lack of basement storage)
Forest River WILDCAT 312BHX (no master slide)
2005 Keystone Sprinter 297fwbhs (no master slide)
2005 Keystone Cougar 314BHS(no master slide, open shower, but love the back garage, is this the same as the 314EFS?)

Basically I would love something like the 2005 Cougar 314EFS with a master slide. Does anyone know if one like that exists?

Thanks
  • I would say my Durango has all the features you asked for except it has an open bathroom, as for the master slide there is quiet a few out there that have it, mine doesn't and saves me some weight. Price wise you should be able to find one well below 20k. let us know what you find.
  • Jayco makes a 365BHS that addresses the basement storage problem.
  • Kids will be 12 and 8 when we head out next spring. We plan to be on the road for about two years.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen those four slide models. I really think those are just too big for us. Plus, they get really heavy at that size. Two slides are enough, one superslide in the living room, and one bed slide in the master. Problem is, they just aren't out there. There are some newer ones that are close, but they are too expensive. I am bummed.
  • How long do you plan to FT?

    How old are your kids?

Be glad to give you some suggestions as we are a family of 4 who FT's and have owned both TT and FW. PM me, please
  • Back when I was looking for our bunkhouse, Cedar Creek was offering one like you describe. I think Challenger offered one a couple of years after I got ours.
  • We're in the same boat. We will be travelling full time with 4 kids and our dog. We chose to go with a pull trailer rather than a 5th wheel because the pickup trucks were just too cramped for us. We ended up buying a Sport Trek 320VIK; a great bunkhouse with LOADS of storage in it.

    Good luck with your travels!

if that was me I would get the biggest I could afford... we love our rear bunk, 4 slides, but years in it with the kids would drive me crazy... good luck on your quest for something that fits..
