Hitching/Unhitching Checklist (Fifth Wheel)

I would like to see some fiver checklists. I deleted mine because we had not had a fiver for a few years. Now we bought a used fiver for snowbird use. I used to love using the checklist for the hitching process because it was too easy to skip a step without it.

If you have an actual document file, if you can email me at squandering.aimlessly@gmail.com, that would be great! Or if you can point me to a post here, whatever, I'll be grateful. Or post it here. I did search but couldn't get it narrowed down to where I could find actual lists rather that mentions of using lists.
  • +2 last walk around, checking windows, antenna, steps up, handle down, lights working, nothing left in sight.

Quick light check during walk around: lights on, 4 ways activated; you can check all TV & 5W lights. Flashers check turn signals & brake circuits.

Although I don't own a 5er, one of our moderators, LLeopold, does and this is his checklist. It is almost identical to the one TT users use also and should give you some help.

Befgreat list. Just before I get into truck I do the "Australian walk around" or i walk completely around the outside of the RV checking everything one last time.

Why would you turn of the refer?

Some do it for peace of mind (fire). I don't. I think there are bigger risks driving down the road.
  • Thanks Barney, I had one I made up for me so I didn't miss a step and lost it. This one covers everything. Thanks again

Check out the suggestions at our Forums FAQ. The #2 section called "Checklists & Procedures" will have several links to posts with good checklists you can look over.
