Cut the cord from Direct TV two months ago and pleased with my decision. Right now have a prescription to Amazon Prime and HuluPlus. Will be trying an OTA antenna here shortly.Probably will use the antenna on the trailer for a week or so before investing in an antenna.

Our OTA is the batwing on the trailer. RG-6ed to house. Excellent signal, and no cost.
I'm 45 miles from KCMO, and OTA is as good or better than Dish network. We keep Dish for the shows that are not OTA, like Game of Thrones and True Blood and a few others. Also nice when out and about.

We also dropped all the high dollar items and go for the DIGITAL HIGH DEF TV signals from the National Broadcast stations transmitted from the local towns.

At home I use one of the DUAL groups of BOW TIE dipoles. These are 70 mile plus type antennas and do a bang up job for us.. We live about 50 miles outside of Washington DC where the Digital TV transmitters are located. We also have TV stations to the south in Richmond also around 50 miles away. Washington DC is our best shot for all of the national broadcast stations. The dual frames on this antenna is great as we can zero in on one group of TV stations that is on one side of Washington DC and use the other antenna group frame to zero in on the other transmitter station on the other side of town.

When on the road in the RV trailer we use the OTA BATWING antenna and get excellent results picking up the National Broadcast stations from the local towns using that.

Of course sometimes you want get some of the CABLE STATIONS not being broadcast over the NATIONAL BROADCAST SYSTEM so there we will downstream some of them from time to time using the internet.

Never seem to be without HDTV where ever we go here on the east side of the US.

we "cut the cable" last December before heading south for the winter. Right now we are viewing OTA TV through the antenna on our 5th wheel. We get maybe 35 channels (not all that great) but with the local broadcast stations and Netflix and Amazon Prime we see all we want.

Go to www.tvfool.com. Enter your zipcode and it will list the TV stations available and suggest what type of antenna needed.

We cut the CATV 4 years ago. We get 20+ channels in HD using a home built OTA antenna.

Are you looking for satellite service or OTA antennas?
