I have a Ram 2500 HD with a 6.4 Hemi and 4:11 rear. It is rated at 15600 lbs for max hauling. Any ideas on any makes or models of 5th wheeler toy haulers I can haul? I have a HDTrike I want to haul too.
Thanks!

Several manufacturers make 5th wheel toy haulers that are under 16000GVWR with separate garages. The internet is your best friend when doing research on floorplan layouts along with the specs on each one also. With the 15600 tow rating on your truck I wouldn't hesitate to go with a 16K GVWR hauler as long as your other weights are in line. Expect to have aprox 18-20% of the hauler weight on your truck as pin weight.

sage advice here. Be careful, all they want is the sale, not your safety.

As previously noted, need to know your truck's various ratings before you can determine which toy hauler you can safely tow.

Payload on 2014-2017 Ram 2500 6.4 Hemi's can run anywhere from ~2,500 to ~3,500 lbs. All depends on configuration, trim, and options. As long as you don't have a base Trademan with 17" wheels, your front/rear axle ratings (FAWR/RAWR) are 5,500/6,500 lbs. 17" wheels drop the RAWR to 6,000 lbs.

Payload rating of your truck when it left the factory should be noted on your truck's door jam sticker. Your truck's "current" payload rating is your truck's GVWR (more than likely 10,000 lbs.) minus the current, "scaled" weight of your truck empty.

Lastly, pin weight aside, your 2500 6.4 Hemi with the 4.10 rear end may be rated to "pull" 15,600 lbs; however, if you have any plans to pull that kind of weight in the mountains be prepared to see that 6.4 downshift frequently to 2nd and 3rd gear at 4,000 to 5,000 RPM's while doing so.

Don't to a scale and get actual weights, you won't be happy with numbers once you look at everything..... ๐Ÿ˜ž

People usually only look at the GCWR, which is 15,600lbs, from what you stated.

You also have to look at GVWR, GAWR and actual weights.

The pin weight will be 20-25 percent of the GTWR which will limit you in fifth wheel size. Don't discount some of the longer tags at 15 percent tongue weight which would keep you from exceeding your RAWR.

It's all about pin weight and payload of the truck, not how much it can tow. This is always where folks get confused.

Pin weight matters. What's your payload capacity?
