Interesting new product

Article in today's RV Daily Report about a product called Battery Doctor. It's a remote/automatic battery disconnect and it advertised to work on MH and towables. Has a key fob to remotely connect/disconnect your battery(ies) as well as an auto setting that disconnects when the battery(ies) discharge to 12v. Made by a company called WirthCo.

I wonder how long the voltage has to be below 12VDC before it disconnects. Because if they haven't built in a generous delay, annoying disconnects could result. Battery banks easily drop below 12 under a heavy load, when boondocking for example.

Not something I would buy, but then I'm usually a minimalist about such things.

  • If you want one..better get one while you can. I have a feeling this unnecessary gadget won't be around very long..

Im not seeing where this fills a need. What is so hard about pulling a switch? Really dont need another key fob just for this. To each their own I guess.

Gotta love their brochure showing the OPEN KNIFE SWITCH for battery disconnect...
