Jayco recall 2013-2015

Jayco is recalling 2,747 model year 2013-2015 Seismic Pinnacle and Eagle Premier recreational trailers manufactured April 3, 2013, to February 27, 2015.

A rivet for the quad entry steps in the vehicles may shear and fail, causing the steps to give when being used. The occupant may fall, increasing the risk of personal injury.

Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the defective rivets with bolts, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on June 15, 2015.

Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267
  • Thanks for sharing. Wonder who makes their steps? My last three Excels fifth wheels had the step rivets fail and bent the mechanism all to heck. They were Lippert and they did goodwill the parts (step assy.) as they were out of warranty by just a little bit. Cost $100. to have the new one welded in. I am large (225 lbs.) but they shouldn't fail under that weight. I did put the step supports under the bottom step to help support. We'll see how that works. rockin'
  • We have the best rv steps of strength In my opinion. But I have a home made step stabilizer for when others go down and this felt like an elephant was on the steps. I make 2 each summer and give them away during the winter. 2 are in the alpenlites basement to give away. The problem is we might not be able to hit the road for the 1st time in 14 years.

  • Already had one rivet break! I drilled out the rivet and replaced it with a bolt! Very easy to do, no big deal. Easier to do it yourself than to take it to the dealer. Have spare bolts on hand if another breaks. Maybe I will just go ahead and replace them.
