Just back from checking on 5er in storage:(

DW and I went to check on the 5er today. Mice have invaded again. We had poison out, all gone. Also had cotton balls spread around with the peppermint oil on them. Found a nest with peppermint scented cotton balls in it. Smelled good. Didn't find any mice though. Hopefully the poison did as it is supposed to. Make them thirsty so they leave to find water.
I have been using the poison for 4-5 years now and have never found a body, or smelled one. Hoping that is a good sign.
We went and bought more poison to put out. Also bought some moth balls and spread them around the outside of the trailer. I hope when the little buggers get close to the trailer they smell them and turn around.
I hate mice!!!!!!:(

    If the urine works sprinkling around some used kitty litter should do the trick.

    I don't for a minute disbelieve the bobcat urine thing would keep away mice. However, one of the uses is to lure bobcats! Unfortunately, I have a nice little Cairn Terrier we're pretty fond of that would not last too long in a cat fight. I have also read that coyotes are drawn to the stuff. Don't need more of either of those critters.

    Most mice poison available to us homeowners is very weak. I was talking to a guy who worked for years for an extermination company, and he mentioned to buy Ramik or One Bite if those baits were available. He had more powerful baits available to him, but he said those were the best available to the general public (I forget what the active ingredients are). He said the joke at his company was that DeCon would kill mice, if you dropped a 1 ton pallet of it on the mouse...

    I have heard that mice poison doesn't really work to kill them. They just carry it off to hide it for later. If they remember where they put it they might eat it. and then of course die. I put mice poison out in the garage and would fill the bowl every night. Every morning it was empty. Found mice poison hidden all over the garage. Changed to mice traps with either peanut butter or cheese. I would kill at least one a night.

    In my 5th wheel I sealed up the cracks and put bounce sheets out. Touch wood I have had no problems.

    Some years back we had mice in our 5er and put mothballs everywhere you could put them wrapped in dryer sheets.....never worked for us, maybe it has to do with where one camps. Used traps to rid 5er of them, then went with outside traps, (again, depends on where you camp), and the peppermint oil and cab fresh packets.....again, no mice in 5er for well going on 2 years now using what we do now....Have also used steel wool shoved into holes and crevices and covered over with the foam,,,so far that has added to keeping the mice from getting in I guess...

    not if poison baits are used OUTSIDE the 5er in maze type traps..., again, the dryer sheets were complete flops....peppermint oil, works for us as well cab fresh packets...

    Tried to get some Bobcat urine once, but that dang cat wouldn't hold still for me, I had scratches all over me:B

    Agree, never had any luck with the dryer sheets, waste of time.....the peppermint oil and the Cab Fresh packets work very well, (as did the poision traps set outside behind the 5er tires...No mice this past year:), zip, nil, nada....

    Nope - they ATE the insulation. There's massive amounts missing off the cord and not a shred of chewed-off insulation laying around. (I could look into the cord compartment with a viewing scope)

    I know how rodents like to chew - had 4 pet rats when my kids were small :-)
