Just need to vent. Truck was stolen. UPDATE #2 With Pics

Well I went out to go to work this morning and our truck was gone!!!!
Some low down dirty dog of a thief stole our beloved 2003 F350. I have made a police report and called the insurance company. Nothing else to do but wait.
What really ticks me off is the wife and I had a trip to Branson in 1 1/2 weeks that both the kids were going to join us. My kids are both in their 30's and havent been camping with us in like forever. I guess we could hotel it but I hate hotels.
DANG THIEVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks rant over. But still bummed.

Also I had just filled the dang tank so they go a full tank of diesel too!

Congratulations John, and thanks for the updates and pictures.

While waiting for the PU, make the best list you can of the lost interior contents and see about adding them to your claim. Worth a try.

I hope the needed repairs are all identified in the first try, and that parts and such are quickly obtained and installed.

ummm, if the puter was working properly it is difficult to overrev the 7.3.

I have seen guys plant the large number 12 wide hoof on the go pedal and the motor just sat there and ran at the red line. :h

Here in AZ, the damned emissions requires that the engine be redlined 4 times; once to test the governor and 3 times in the test phase. Every time I go in I ask who pays for my new engine if I throw a rod to pass this state-required test. So far, no answer...

Lyle

If it throws a rod at red line your trouble is with the manufacturer, not the guy pressing the throttle.

And if you're out of warranty the answer is easy. You are.

You may as well quit asking. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ah, but the thing is, there's only 2 counties in the state that require emissions testing, so that's unnecessary wear and tear on a vehicle that, if I lived 9 miles away, wouldn't have to go through. ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes, I'm baiting them, but I'd still like to know the answer to my question.

Lyle

"Yes" on the quit asking - they don't care...:S

If it were me - the truck would have a new address in one of the "other" counties in the state that don't require testing- ASAP.

Not difficult to accomplish.

OP - sorry for the thread (and truck) hi-jack.

Well we were able to go look at the truck today. The tow service operator said he didn't think we should try to drive it home, about a 50 miles trip. He said he thought the transfer case was blown. There was a huge puddle of tranny fluid from where they pulled out. So I left it there and will be having it hauled to Midway Ford on Monday. I will let them determine the extent of any damage to the transfer case and transmission.

Truck was filthy and everything that was loose on the inside is gone. Owners manual, gps and all my hand tools I had behind the rear seat. All replaceable and the truck is fixable. I am just so grateful it was recovered and not stripped.

Here are a few pics I took today.

Also our hitch was still in the bed. I was worried they would have taken it too.

I will post back probably in a new thread once all the repairs are completed and I know what all was done. Thanks for all the encouragement and kind words.

John

SO glad you got it back. Congrats! So a happy ending deserves a comeback on the Dodge/Chevy comment. Good thing you did own a Ford because a Chevy or Dodge would have never gotten stuck so you would have not have found it........:B

Again, very happy you got it back.

When you get it back on the road, I would suggest you get a system installed that disables the vehicle when turned on, and also, use a steering wheel lock. I use both features in an attempt to keep my truck in the driveway, except when I am driving it.

Glad you got it back, and good luck!

Ummm. Well that's reassuring. Sitting there red lining a motor guess is no problem. Sounds like that motor is in fine shape then. :h

Glad you got it back! The little pricks! I really think thieves should be executed. Out here in the west it wasn't horribly long ago that a man would be hung for stealing a horse. I don't know what happened?
