- I'm considering the same except for that my DR650 weights less than 400lbs. Too bad it doesn't have a side slide out.

That bike will weigh in at 1,200 pounds. That leaves you with less than 800 pounds of gear/food/clothing weight (considering propane, water, ect.)- Will 2200 pounds (230) and 2400 pounds (240) pounds of cargo capacity minus the weight of water, propane, batteries, pots/pans etc. be enough for you?
