Lazy Days, PDI and Montana 3711FL

Went to Lazy Days Tampa today to pick up the new 2016 Montana 3711FL. LD had no issues with us doing an extensive PDI; took nearly three hours. Ended up with a list of 13 issues, two of which were serious (plumbing leak in the underbelly and separated caulking on the roof at each end). The other items were small stuff. LD didn't push us to sign for the unit and they're going to repair it in the next two days, at which time we'll be on our merry way. So, a little disappointed they didn't catch most of the problems themselves, but overall a good experience.
  • When LD call to set up the delivery date we said we wanted to start in the AM (so we'd have time to do the PDI), that we were going to do the PDI before signing at finance, and that we expected to have all major issues repaired before taking delivery. They said no problem and it actually worked out that way. It was a bit confusing because the salesman wasn't there, the PDI gent wasn't very clear about who was doing what, etc., but it all worked out.
  • We are pickup our Montana 3820FK on friday 4/22. How did you ask for the PDI, they want us to rush to sign and then inspect, but like you I want to do before.

  • Following up, LD did all the priority repairs to our satisfaction with a promise to bring it in for the remainder some time later. In fact, it's such small stuff I'll probably fix it myself. Brought it home today. Overall, a good experience. Now I have to change my signature.

Yes, and that's why I posted our experience. I encourage everyone to do a thorough PDI.

Are you taking advantage of their camp sites? When we picked up our GD, we camped for three days at their sites, and were able to pick up a couple of items there!

We decided to go home (just 1-1/2 hours south) rather than stay overnight. They promised it tomorrow so we'll head back and stay at their site for two nights (just in case) before heading out for a real shakedown.

  • We have had our 3711FL for a couple of months now. So far so good, had few issues with it but dealer has correct all of them so far.
