Learning Curve.

First off I want to thank our veterans for the sacrifices that they made -------on this Memorial Day!!!!!!

Okay on to my topic learning curve ---I just recently got my third fifth wheel ,This one is a lot bigger ---lot more bells and whistles--- this one has a front bedroom slide out, my other ones did not.

In Messing around with it and getting it ready to go on my first real real trip I put the slide out a few times and occasionally at the very end you know when it stops you're hear a little bit like a click or maybe a gear noise ----well today when I went to put the slide out --back in ----all I got was the click click click click like maybe the gear or the drive is stripped----- Oops

So my learning curve just took another notch up--- (luckily this is at home) so I tore the bed apart to get to where the motor and the drive is----Of course found on the end of the shaft where they attached a nut that you can put a wrench or a socket on ,and so I turned that a couple times-- and then went and tried to slide again ---and its engaged real good--- good to go.

so what I'm going to do-- before I put everything back together I'm going to cut an access hole in the storage part of the bed slide (inside)When it's in the open position 6 inch, 1 foot ----so I can pull the access cover off --and put a wrench or a ratchet on it in case this ever happens again!!!!

Down the line I'm going to take apart the assembly and see if maybe there's a part of maybe on the gear where the motor connects-- it may be stripped or something because it sounds good and solid when I move it in and out in the main part of the shaft--- it's just right at the end I got that click click --and I heard the click once before but everything retracted okay--- so there could be a spot where it's a little warn.

Thank goodness this happened at my house not in the middle of nowhere ----so just a little bit of advice for your do-it-yourselfers -----you may want to kind of consider this ----before you need it -----haha
