Lib on slideout

What is best thing to. Use on slide out it jerks and sounds like it's hanging up
  • The only thing I've used on my slides is slide lube spray, sold at WalMart or any RV dealer.

Mine rides in a track with toothed gears.

Jerking may be due to a broken tooth on a gear? Hope not, but something to check.

    slide out rubber seal lube....LINK

You beat me to it. You're fast!

This is the only stuff I've ever used on my seals, 2 trailers now.

I think if the slides are retracted for a while and the first time they are retracted, there is always some sticking of the rubber to the side of the trailer causing a jerking sensation until they break free. Your car doors do the same thing. The only difference is, we open and close our car doors much more frequently so it's not as noticed.
  • I have heard of some folks using baby power on the rubber seals of their slide outs too. I've never tried that. I suppose I'm not adventurous enough.
  • Talking about Protect All....I also use their wipe on/wipe off wax on the slide sides. It makes the gel coat really slick, and protects from UV also. I even put it on the slide windows, and casings.

Another tip...if you leave the door open, when extending/retracting, it will make a noticeable difference with a large slide.

  • What brand slide mechanism? Might be an actual binding situation from broken part/misalignment/etc. Our Winnebago with Schwintec mechanism has carpet covered blocks on the bottom of the slide inside that need to slide across the floor freely. Have already replaced the carpet once as it was getting worn and starting to mark the floor.
