Yeah normally you would take to hitch apart into two pieces. Mine only requires pulling a couple of pins to separate the parts. Each piece is much lighter but still no light weight. I cannot imagine getting enough lift height off the king pin to pick the hitch off the ground to a high enough point that you could get the truck bed under it.
Some people do leave the hitch hanging from the kingpin once it is in the bed and just lift it high enough to drive out from under it. I did it one year but all that weight hanging from the 5ver just made me nervous. So I don't anymore.
I do have a couple of 2x8's that can be used to make a ramp into the truck bed where you can push the hitch bottom up the ramp. The top can just be picked up more easily.
