New to the site so please excuse me if I screw up. I am trying to locate a Kingpin adapter to help me lift my Hijacker in and out of my f250. I have heard that Demco makes one but I was wondering if anyone else does.

Never heard of one. My Hyjacker come apart into two pieces. I can even at 72 lift it oit myself. If your not capable just but a cheap cable winch for less than 50 dollars from Harbor Freight and a short tow strap. Thats all you need.

I looked around when I got my hitch and didn't find anything else, so I forked out the forty-something dollars for theirs. I have their Ram puck system picture frame with it and yanked the whole thing out at once. Just took it out for the first time the other day after being in the truck for a year and a half.JK

Yeah normally you would take to hitch apart into two pieces. Mine only requires pulling a couple of pins to separate the parts. Each piece is much lighter but still no light weight. I cannot imagine getting enough lift height off the king pin to pick the hitch off the ground to a high enough point that you could get the truck bed under it. Some people do leave the hitch hanging from the kingpin once it is in the bed and just lift it high enough to drive out from under it. I did it one year but all that weight hanging from the 5ver just made me nervous. So I don't anymore.I do have a couple of 2x8's that can be used to make a ramp into the truck bed where you can push the hitch bottom up the ramp. The top can just be picked up more easily.

My Demco stays in all summer. In the winter, I leave it in for extra weight in the bed. I tried hanging my old one on kingpin but it was a pain trying to get it to line up when I wanted to reinstall it. Had to get it close and then man handle it.

I think that was a sneaky jab at the aluminum Andersen hitch that only weighs about 35 lbs. Handy, if the most important consideration is that the hitch be really light. Most of us are concerned with the strength, not the weight.

Not a jab at Anderson’s at all. The weight of the hitch is not a factor for me. When I sent to a long bed truck two years ago I had a B&W Companion installed, only its Head has been removed to lube. In my garage I’ve got a hoist I could use, the last thing it was used for was to lift a hardtop off the roadster I sold 7 years ago. Most of what I use the truck for is pulling the fifth wheels but yesterday hauled some lumber home from the lumber yard. Anderson makes a good hitch, I just don’t have a need for it and no reason so slam it with a comment.
