Lippert 6 point Auto Level zero point reset

so the last 2 times I've been out with the rig, my auto level system seems to have a brain fart---when I go to hit the auto level it drops the front of the rig wayyyyy down then goes thru a normal extend & adjust but at the end it's not level. I found instructions on doing a zero point reset but there's a part of the instructions that aren't really clear:

ZERO SETTING THE CONTROL
1. Turn “ON/OFF” button “OFF”
2. Push “FRONT” button 10 times,
3. Push “REAR” button 10 times
4. Control will flash & beep, LCD says "ZERO POINT CALIBRATE"
5. To memorize this level condition , press “ENTER”
6. LCD says ZERO POINT STABILITY SUCCESSFULLY SET
7. The control will then turn off.
8. Turn “ON/OFF” on to commence operation.

My question for those who have done this before is do you go into manual mode & level everything first then go through these steps or wait until step 4 to manually adjust--it appears that you need to do the manual steps first but I just want to verify it from someone whose gone through it before...TIA!!

does your camper have Lippert's 6pt electric or hydraulic system

hydraulic---I'll do the manual leveling first then follow the reset-up to this point before it went weird on me, it's worked great...

Exactly how I did it. The only difference for me (and other I have read too) is I had to push the button 11 times instead of 10.

This is NOT true! You do not have to move anywhere unless you are on a very unlevel site. Put system in manuel mode and level it using carpenters level. Then follow the procedure you listed. I have done this one time and it works.

I also have the 6 point system from Lippert on my Mobile Suites. It started giving me trouble. Took it back to the dealer found out it was my brain that was the problem.
But also learned that even plugged to shore power if battery low the leveling system won't work right.

I'm not a fan of typical hydraulic leveling systems, its good to hear a positive report about yours .... for me, too many lines run too far .... I do like Bigfoot's auto leveling system because their system has 4 separate pumps/reservoirs .... no hydraulic lines the length of the camper and many fewer fittings .... Lippert's 6 point electric system works but is major league slow

Good start.

Then level the trailer manually. Front to back and side to side.

Use a bubble level, if you have one, in the fridge, to ensure it is level.

Then start the calibration process.

Been through this before. It was 2 years ago. My 5th has not needed calibration since I bought it and calibrated at that time.

Level it first. Then do as your instructions say. This will be your new "set" point for the auto level to go to each time you hit auto level. Good luck.

Yes, manually level the trailer using a carpenters level to get it perfect. Then follow the procedure in the instructions.
