Living Room Floor is Wet

During our last trip in our Montana 3750FL a couple of weeks ago, DW noticed that the living room floor was wet right where the corner of the slideout would be if it were closed. I thought it was because I had washed but not dried the top of the slideout before closing it. I went back and checked today after a couple of days of heavy rain, and the floor is wet again.

It's only wet below the front corner of the enclosed front slideout. It's not wet by the outer wall, and it's not wet at the other end of the slideout. I felt under the edge of the couch, and it's wet. It's also wet where the slideout floor meets the edge of the couch about four inches above the living room floor.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this something I can fix, or do I have to take it in? Thanks.

    Get it fixed NOW. We had leaks caused by missing Z channels letting road water in. It rotted the floors our of all four slides. Plywood flooring over 8 feet only comes from one place in Indiana and is expensive.

    If you have frameless windows check the emergency window in driving rain it flexes and can leak

    Also, slides are prone to wicking water from runoff down the sides of the slides. The water can seep into very small holes, even getting into the floor of the slide. Examine very carefully along the edge and under the slide edge.

    I had one leak where rain ran down the outside wall and entered at the trim line along the bottom of the slide. It followed the floor line inward until it dripped off of the inboard front corner. I guess that was the low point of the closed slide.

    Looking at your floor plan I would look at the small slide window by the front of the couch (dont know which couch). Water could be entering by the window and running along the couch. Check the window drains to be sure that they are clear as well as the window for leaks. Then you can know if you can fix it yourself or not.

    Well, it seems this was the problem. I checked the edge of the trim at the bottom and part of it had begun to pull away from the siding. I finally had a dry day and re-caulked it. We've had a couple of days rain since then and the floor hasn't gotten wet. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get rid of the mold. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions. We'll call this one a success.

    This happened to ours as well. Trim was loose at the outboard end. Water runs down the end wall of the slide, into the trim piece and is carried inside. VERY easy to fix. Took a while to diagnose, but <10 min. to repair.

    Have been bone dry since, including during heavy storms here in TX.
