Long Winter

This has been one long cold Winter, and it doesn't want to end. We are hoping our kids will be out of school in time for our trip to Myrtle Beach the second week in June. Our local schools have missed more this year for snow than the previous 3 years combined. Just one of those years, it started getting really cold in November, our last trip the temps dropped in the 30's. I am really looking forward to Spring.

Not any better here either. I can see mine...but getting thru the 3-4 ft of snow for 300 feet is just a crazy thought.

Not sure, but I think the Weather Chanel stated that Spring has been canceled for the mid west and northeast! :( :( :(

Really do feel for those of you in those regions, just hoping next year isn't going be the NW bad winter!!

  • Like everyone with a camper we can't wait for spring, they are talking snow this week and below freezing weather everyday next week. The snow has melted on the top of the camper and the slides are out. Once the temps don't go below freezing the water will be filled and the camping season will start.
  • I do believe we go from Winter to Summer this year. I believe we will have a very wet period in my area before we see nice warm weather. Last year was very rainy during the Spring, and never stopped. It has really been a very tough stretch of weather.
  • It has been really tough up north. My cousin likes to take pictures of waterfalls, and sent pictures of Niagara Falls partially frozen and Salmon River Falls completely frozen. We should have stayed in Florida a couple more weeks. It may be one of those years when we go directly from winter to summer!
  • Very long, cold snowy winter here at Otty Lake near Perth Ontario about 2 hrs North of Watertown NY. Here it is St Patties Day and 7am temps -24C(-11F) with wind chill of -30C (-22F!). Will it ever end.
    Forecast is -15C tonight again!
Patiently awaiting maple sap run. We have our 2000 taps in place and looking for 35F to 40F day temps and 25F night temps. to get the sap running. Close to 24" of snow in the maple bush/forest made for difficult tapping.

Can't wait to be able to walk down to the dock and hop in the boat in T shirt and shorts!

Good time to plan those late spring and summer trips!

We woke up this morning to five inches of fresh snow in the Northern Neck VA... Who knows when it all is going to end.

All of the ROBIN BIRDS are out in groves now feeding in all the community yards... This may be hard time for them...

I need to get my OFF-ROAD POPUP setup and gone over for spring cleaning and restocking of equipments and other road worthy items...

The schools around here are adding more time to the classes in an effort to catch up on missed days.
