Slip plate on jaws and hitch pin. I use Teflon plate on hitch. I have a B&W hitch and use gun grease in lower zerk.

I use the white plastic disc on the hitch plate.

I use a non messy dry spray on my '97 16k Reese slider tubes after trying the white spray on grease. What a gunked up mess after hauling other stuff in the bed.

I completely disassemble the hitch head/pivot pin every 5 years or so and coat pins/bushings/etc with a dab of red grease.

The old hitch slides and works like a hot knife through butter at any angle/any hitch load.

I use Slip Plate dry lube on my moving parts on the hitch. I would think that any dry lube would work just as well. the dry lube does not attract dust or dirt particles.

X2. Slip Plate only on the pin and moving hitch parts.

My thoughts are, what are we lubing on that 5th wheel hitch? The plate or the innerds?

White plastic/teflon plate, and whatever grease I happen to have handy for the zerks and the pin, and the saddles.
