Luxury toy hauler?

We are thinking about trading our Travel Supreme for a toy hauler. The problem is, most toy hauler's are, what we consider, junk! Is there a luxury toy hauler out there that a full timer can enjoy that is nice to live in?

You post on the 5th wheel Forum, state that you consider most toyhaulers junk, and wonder why most toyhauler owners feel their toes were trod upon? When someone tells me I bought and own junk I do tend to get my back up a bit too.

When we were first looking for a 5th wheel we looked at toyhaulers too. We bought a Big Sky because most toyhaulers we looked at were not what we wanted: too much of the "hose it out at the end of the weekend" look. We were looking for something nice as well as something that could haul our motorcycles. We finally found what we wanted, not exactly what we wanted, but close enough. I would never have insulted toyhauler owners by saying they bought and own junk because it wasn't what we were looking for.

I don't think your wording was so bad.

Have you tried a white noise machine? We bought one (they run about 40-50 bucks at bed bath and beyond) and DH and I are both sleeping so much better now, his snoring could wake the dead. So the white noise machine (and a 15 pound weigh loss for him) and I sleep like a baby now.

Seems cheaper than a whole new rig,.. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi oldbird1965 - many toyhaulers do not have the same insulations (especially floors and rear doors) - in the garage as in the people quarters.

I'm glad you agree Aridon but really now, how was my wording so bad?? I'm in a few other forums and I don't see how that wording stepped on so many toes. We were thinking about a new or almost new 5er and because we sleep separate I thought that maybe I could make a bedroom out of the garage or go to a doctor and get my snoring fixed and keep our Travel Supreme, LOL I just thought I would ask the experts here a question and I still appreciate the suggestions. Thanks!!
New Horizon and Spacecraft are custom builders. You can have a 5er with 2 bedrooms if you want. They are not cheep and you might need a medium duty truck instead of a 1 ton. Not everyone has 150K to spend on a high end TH. For what it's worth I'm one of them. My (junk) TH has gave me several years of trouble free service at a reasonable cost. While it may be a little austere I would hardly call it junk.

While the OP wording was poorly chosen I'd have to agree. We have been shopping fifth wheels hard and most of the toy haulers are lacking when compared to higher end fifth wheels.

I'd recommend what others have said, check New Horizons and DRV.

If you are not looking at new only, a Carriage C-Force is reasonably well built.

I just took a tour of the Spacecraft plant Concordia Mo, where they are building a toyhauler now. Expect to drop at least $100 K but serious engineering combined with signicant experience and best materials.
They have 3 trade-ins of more common brands, junk like you said.

Voltage seems to be a pretty pricey toy hauler. Have you taken a look at them?

oppps!! I didn't mean to step on any toes, sorry. What I should have said, the ones we have looked at so far are not 'luxury'. That is all I meant.

In answer to my tow rig, I have a one ton dually powerstroke with a built motor. Thanks for the all these ideas, its most appreciated!!
