Wow.... you and I have a very different definition of "easy". Spinning the mattress 90 degrees every time I use the slide? No thanks. I can barely lift the corners to put the sheets on in the tight space.

I'm on the taller side and have replaced every "RV mattress" in every trailer I've owned. A couple have had to be lifted a bit with the slides but I don't think a mattress is any match for the gears and other hardware holding the slide. I guess if a mattress causes the slide to break I've got bigger problems.

This may, or may not be of any use. Our trailer apparently originally came with something call and Olympic Queen, but it appears that's no longer readily available. From what I understand, it was the same length as a regular queen, but wider. Anyway, the previous owner shoe-horned TWO king sized mattresses into that space; one on top of the other. (Yeah, I don't know, either!) It was impossible for us to maneuver around the bedroom with that configuration, so we immediately removed both king mattresses (they burned rally well) and replaced them with a good quality regular queen mattress. I did have to trim a couple inches off each side of the platform but that was pretty easy. Hope this helps.

I had a Montana that I put a home Mattress in that would need to be raised. We put a small waste basket under to hold it up while closing the slide, did that for years and never harmed the slide.

We had a queen specially made to the measurements of the bed area in the 5er. We did that after the trailer was broken into and the bedding, including the memory foam topper was taken. It was made by the company that we bought our first queen size mattress from, when we moved into this house. We really like that mattress so they asked for the model number that was still on the old mattress and built it to our measurements. Sadly they have since closed down. It wasn't cheap but it sure is nice to sleep on a great mattress.

Followup on RVmattress.com. We ordered a 70x80 RV king but they will make any size you need. They stated that shipping would be by truck and kept us updated very well, even showing FedEx's truck location as it traveled I40 from Phoenix AZ to central NC.
I thought it would be a giant 6' by 8' box due to the truck reference, but a little FedEx van pulled in the drive and out came a 24x24x70 inch box. That thing was vacuum packed and rolled up in a bag.
That made it easy to get into the 5er. I cut the bag with a knife and voila instant 8 inch thick 70x80 very comfortable mattress. Getting the old one out wasn't so easy. It was like wrestling an octopus. Total manufacture and shipping time exceeded the quote by a few days but hey, these are unusual times.

I have no connection to this company, just wanted a new mattress.

wondering where Brantford is. Would it be in Ontario Canada. If it is google Bestway bedding. They are in St. Catharines On. They will make anything you could ever want. They do a lot for Niagara trailers RV. Our fifth wheel has storage under the bed and they recommended foam so that it can bend when lifted. A spring mattress won't bend a results in too heavy for the gas shocks and most people to lift. I know I'm offering more than asked but I thought it was good information when we were buying. It was an expensive one that we purchased but spent 3 months on it in Florida and loved every minute on it. The one they recommended was foam with a 2 inch latex on top both enclosed with the fabric. Latex has the ability to not make you hot while laying on it . It was perfect.
