My concern was the situation where you can not get the steps down level due to terrain. If you can not fully deploy the steps, you can not close the door.
Friends of mine ended up in this exact situation for an overnight stop and had to pull the steps in while they were inside. I'm still not quite sure how they did it.
Torklift has the GlowStep Up-rising steps that are the answer vs. the MorRyde and Lippert solid steps:
