We have a 2018 Flagstaff 526KSWC that came with MOR/ryde steps with strut assist. This is another example of an interesting idea that was not investigated for real-life use. As you know, unless you are parked on a perfectly straight spot and can fully adjust the steps and the feet, the door will probably not close. Not being able to close the door would not be good in a rainy or snowy situation. We used these steps for three trips and decided that we had enough of this nonsense, so we replaced them with a MOR/ryde two-step model without strut assist. This fit in our door opening without any skirt cutting. The height of our 5th wheel required that we add some plastic leveling blocks under the feet which is fine with us. This may be extreme to some people, but the positives outweighed the negatives.
