bbaker2001,
The TPMS will not stop damage from a cheap tire blow out. A cheap tire will still blow and cause damage before you can get off the road.
Ken
I strongly disagree with your blanket statement :E
I have a tire pressure monitor system ---and a couple years ago I had a sidewall blowout and it alerted me by a rapid drop in pressure ----and I was able to pull to the side of the road before the tire went completly flat and shredded and tore it....:W
I had enough time to pull over-- enough I received no damage !!!!!
If you do not have a tire pressure monitoring system you will not know:S
(I had Goodyear marathons..Not Cheap by any means)
so your BLANKET STATEMENT Is just conjecture on your part.....(Unless of course you personally have a tire pressure monitor ---and system and the tire just blew up --and you did not have time to pull over)... in which case it did alerts you that you had tire problem ....didn't it...?????:h
It saved me Hundreds ,possibly thousands of dollars.
For Those thinking of possibly having them or ride conversion some parts install things like that I believe in March they have a discount on the parts it when you have them installed at the factory but only in MarchI stopped there last year and looked at the system and got the details that's how I know.
