New Montana question

I just thought of one more Montana fifthwheel question. Has keystone ever figured out how to keep the graphic decals, specifically the one on the front cap, from cracking and falling off, piece by piece? My 2004 Montana looked great except for the big Montana decal on the front cap that curled up and little pieces fell off.

My HH is parked in the sun on the door side on the storage lot and door side parked in the sun at AZ and WY spots. Darn thing doesn't have a chance. Decals are all faded but the door sides are peeling. Other than that it's a top quality unit, just doesn't show it on the outside. Not putting $4000-$8000 on cosmetics, mainly cause I can't afford it. It'll be all white one of these days.

We had our 06 3400 till 2013.The graphics held up well for 5 years then began peeling and shrinking in year 6 and looked horrible by year 7.It was outdoors all year.2006 3400 graphics were hard to get and the solution would have been to replace them with, as I remember , a set of 2011 graphics that fit very well

However we decided to purchase a 2013 3402 Big sky full body paint. We will see how the paint holds up. It does chip easily.

What a shame that you have a camper that you are embarrassed with and cant be proud of...........Pity. Glad that the decals are doing good tho.

If I made it I would be proud of it. I didn't make it. Did you make yours? I don't need to own something that is made by someone else to feel proud about. Anyone with money or the ability to get money can own one. I make enough of my own stuff that I'm proud of. I don't understand the feeling proud premise about paying money to someone else that had someone else make something. I by food at the store. I don't feel proud when I walk out with it. I guess I'm not into the look at me thing.

If he doesn't have a rear cap, then those may not be decals, they may be scratches.

Best bet is don't buy a Keystone product.

I see you're SO proud of your rig that you don't even list it in your signature or even your profile!! If you don't have any advise worth giving I would recommend not posting.......The decals on my 2010 Montana still look great. I give no special treatment, just wash every few weeks. Tim

My 2010 has graphics cracking, soon to be peeling, I'm sure. The front cap is particularly bad. I called Keystone and they directed me to my dealer, who gave me some prices of the decals. Because the rig is 5 years old, the price is considerably higher than if it were a newer RV, says he. I don't want to spend that kind of cash on decals that will probably end up with the same fate. He suggested I take a look at the graphics on the newer models, and pick out something. That seems reasonable, but I'm considering having something painted on instead. Maybe buy the Montana lettering and paint something underneath.

Well I have owned 2 Jaycos then 3 Montana's before buying a Full Body Paint Landmark which turned out to be a POS. I had issues from the beginning of time with the Landmark. I traded it for a new Montana and have only had it about 6 weeks and no issues at all. I am a supporter of Keystone.

Thanks so much for your input. You are a great help.. What I would do is find a Chicano in L.A and pay him to work his magic by air brushing graphics..some of the work they do is phenomenal!

True..... The NEW caps worth anything are being automotive painted and clear coated... That should help with the fading ..... If buying new , ask for the procedures for front and rear caps....
Old school colored caps were color infused Gelcoat/fiberglass...thus the fade factor
