Hi Team,

Trying to decide how best to protect the decals on our new RV. Last RV, after only 3 years they were cracking and pealing...

I would really appreciate hearing from you all on the best option.

Thanks for your time

I have been shown and told some about a product similar to 303 by Bio-kleen called "qwik shine". Does anyone have expierience with this or heard of it. Bio-kleen appears to have a line of products that could be useful. Gotta keep the toys looking as new as possible is my goal.

FWIW, we recently learned that Keystone RV's manufactured from 2007 -2009 had bad decals. Our Laredo built in 2009 was one of these and the decals have split and shrunk substantially!! Exposure to the elements was not the problem. We know too many folks who have rigs much older than ours, left out in the sun 24/7 year round and their graphics might be a little faded, but not total failures!

We are trading it in on a Grand Design Reflections 29RS.

Keystone supposedly will replace graphics at no cost, but the customer will have to notify them!

Not just 2007-2009. My 2003 Montana peeled, my 2009 was worse (peeled within 2 years), and my BiL's 2011 is peeling. One of the major reasons my new rig is not the same brand. I realize things happen and that I will have issues with new rig, but the fact that Keystone knows they have a problem and won't fix it really ticks me off. Such a cheap fix too.

Our Laredo started showing decal failure the second year of ownership! Now it looks like crap! Glad to be rid of it! Hope our new rig will not dissapoint us!

And some decals don't seem to last as long as others.

No way to tell - so roll the dice.

Not only is Spaceage 303 a great product, but they also make a fabric 303 protection solution that is so good it is recommended by the Sunbrella company to protect their awning and boat cover products.

I also use it on the leather seats in my King Ranch TV due to the amount of sun here in Nevada.

Just saying...

Admittedly, only 4 yrs old but mine still looks almost new with several spray and wax treatments each yr and one really good paste wax once a yr. So far, so good. Camp on!

I have never understood why rv decals peel. We came from the boating world and always used decals to apply the boat name and home port. These decals would last 20 years with no peeling in a very harsh environment. Salt water, heavy dew and sun everyday.

Rv manufacturers must do special research to find decals that will only last two or three years.

So very true. Got 10 years of diesel soot, harsh cleaning chemicals to get the soot off, salt & sun before I decided to replace the boat name.

If available, get marine grade material. Yeah it costs more but the labour to make & install it is the same. Better to be putting on something that lasts 10 years than junk that looks like junk in 5.

Your boat name was probably done by a local boy who is living off of that $50 decal and wants repeat business and word of mouth advertising, so he uses good quality vinyl to begin with.

RV manufacturers only care about selling new $50,000 trailers to poor unsuspecting customers and could care less about that $150 decal package cause they can turn around and sell you replacements in 5 years for $500.

After you price it out you may not want to be spraying it out of a bug sprayer all over the place! 303 is not cheap! In the central part of the U.S. it is not that easy to find in stores, although I did find it at an auto parts store. In SW Florida about everyone sells it, including Walmart.

I use it on my tires, dash of both vehicles, all the plastic trim on the outside of my FW, and about anything else I need protected from UV.

So, do you spray it on the whole side or just the decals?

Great product. I swear by the stuff. I buy it by the gallon and use a half gallon pump "garden" sprayer to apply it.
