This may be on here somewhere else.....

Indio CA.

Can be found on either YouTube -or- linked in a thread on Escapees.
The thread on SKPs has the YouTube video - as well as some worthwhile
comments, so here's the link to the SKPs thread.

First post on SKPs thread: "Why I prefer having my Peterbilt"

The YouTube video is by the tow operator - and *very* loooong!!
However, the first 5 min (or so) displays the accident scene well.

Very unfortunate - first trip!!.

I have seen videos taken of the red lights in Moscow, Russia where they set their red lights like this; 1)the light is green, 2)the green begins flashing like a strobe, 3) the light turns yellow, 4)the light turns red. I would like to see our red lights set up in a similar manner.

We have countdown timers on a lot of our crosswalk lights here. I love those, but the city likes to turn them on and off, it seems like. One day it'll be working and the next, not.

Bottom line, the guy ran a red light and got t-boned. Zero issues with tow capacities, towing setup, etc.

Are you saying he was not overloaded of are you saying his setup had nothing to do with the crash?

Pretty much. While a heavier vehicle would have fared better, that's just because a heavier vehicle usually fares better in a collision.

As I said, run a red light, get t-boned and it's going to be bad. Heck, if he were just in the truck by itself, it could have been worse, other than the being able to stop for the light much quicker.

Interesting... Looks like that thread was closed, but it's not marked "closed", that I can see. I happened to catch that video on YT last week, as it happens. As for the comments on the short yellows, we have short lights here, though the lights are centrally controlled and all intersections have cameras that tie into the central traffic-control system and it will change light timing, especially for left-turn lights. One near us, will give a 2 second green at times, with up to 10 cars in a 2-lane turn bay, and at others, will give an 8-10 second green with 1-2 cars in the bay. I've had a couple convos with the head Traffic Engineer for the city, and he told me that this was "normal". I did give him an earful about having to wait 3 lights to get 10 cars through an intersection because of this. I realize I'm talking green lights, and the video comments were clearly about =yellow= lights. Hell, all it would take is someone with a dash cam to record several passes through that same intersection, or even just standing on the corner and filming the lights for a few hours, to prove that the lights were "faulty". I'd say that there might be an awful good case for =both= parties to go after the State for damages.

LOL. Some opinions/theories expressed came from FAKE NEWS.
Even the tow truck operator came under fire.
