Next Level Auto Transfer

Looking for an answer for a friend. Only know the symptoms as he described them to me and he's limited in electrical abilities. 36' Next Level Toy Hauler, about 2005 vintage. Everything works great on the generator but when he plugs into shore power only one A/C runs (used to work fine) and the microwave has not power. He says rear A/C and microwave are on a separate bus in the breaker box so I assume they are coming off the second leg of the generator. I think his transfer switch is not making both legs when on shore power.

Anyone know where the auto transfer switch is located? Any other thoughts on what could be causing this? Unfortunately he's about 100 miles from me so can't help much and he's trying to leave for the long weekend.
  • I'll tell him to follow wires then. As I said his electrical diagnostic skills are limited, actually I'm surprised he's got this far.
  • Transfer switch in my Raptor was a grey metal box, located behind a compartment wall in the front storage within a foot or so of the electrical plug.

But I'd agree, I don't think its a transfer switch that's usually an all or nothing type of switch.
  • Don, if it's set up like mine, the transfer switch is a black plastic box mounted behind the batteries. I check the lugs on mine yearly. Found some scary loose ones the first time I checked it. Should be a Iota.
  • Humm, our rig dosent have a transfer switch, and i doubt your friends has two switches, must be a breaker somewhere thrown.

Wait, that makes no sense cause it runs on genny AC power. I dont know, im stumped, sorry.

Check the two breakers on the genny itself.

It all works on the generator just not all on shore power. Breaker is good at gennie
