Well, my OEM Chinese tires lasted 3 years and well over 10,000 miles with zero problems and were replaced with LT tires when I went up to 16". Sold them on their rims to another guy who is still running them 1 year later.

My only point is that just because they are made in China doesn't necessarily mean they are disasters. I've known people running major brand tires who have had issue with them too.

Given the chance, I have and will buy American made if I can but sometimes I think these RV forums get into a "feeding frenzy" when this subject comes up.

I have RV friends who don't participate in internet forums and they have no idea of any issue with Chinese ST tires.

Only adds to my decision to go with LT tires my next go around. Yes, my faucet and water heater may be made in China, but the results of a failure won't be catastrophic. Critical wear items like tires require a higher American standard.

The G614 RST is not a ST tire. Per Goodyear the tire is a LT but its marketed for the "Regional Service Trailer" industry.

The ST tire not designed or recommended for passenger service and is a niche tire so it not surprising feds lumped them in the same category as a tractor/lawn mower/hay baler/combine/etc tire.

By the way the ST tire isn't just for a RV camping trailers but comes on all types of trailers so even if we refused to buy a camping trailer with them as OEM it wouldn't mean much.
Plus many folks have replaced their ST tires with another brand ST tire so ............

Sure the tires are made in China. Then start looking and find that the water heater, furnace, water pump and wheels are China made. Then the water faucets are China made too. Maybe the steel in the frame came from China too.
