Opinion on this TH

Hey folks! New to this forum and RVing in general. Wife and I want to start doing some camping and riding our Harley. Since I am a kidney dialysis patient, a TH makes perfect sense. I don't know much (anything) on them and want to make sure I am getting a fair deal.

Here's the stats:

2008 Cherokee Wolf Pack 27' DFWP
2 Captain Chairs
Stove & microwave (no oven)
Santi-flush
18' Checkered Awning (manual)
Fuel Station - no generator
Spare Tire
8 Tie downs and all the hoses for hookups

They wanted $17,500 I talked them down to $15,500. From what I could visually see the camper is in excellent condition. They said they only used it 3x and decided to sell it since they do not get use it like they should. What do you all think?

  • You will most likely have to unload the Harley to use the rear & kitchen area...something that I did not want to do - we purchased a TH with a dedicated wall to make a separate garage area! But that is our opinion!

Check out the different floor plans and make sure you will be happy with the open floor plan!
  • Don't know floorplan on that one. Wife and I are both handicapped. Had a Thor Wanderer hybrid TH. Had to take toys out every night, not that much fun. It had a rear ramp.

Bought a Keystone Outback 230RS, SIDE load TH. No need to take toys out unless we want to. We like it much better.

ALSO, the ramp door is on side under awning, so most CG's have no issues blocking ramp. With rear load we all to frequently had to load/unload in the street before parking, as most CG's did NOT cope with the ramp in the rear. If you get a rear ramp, you need to tell CG your trailer is at least twelve (?) feet longer than it really is to leave toys in parked.

If your toy is a Hog, take it shopping with you. Tell salesman you are not buying anything you can't try. That is what we did to be sure toys (handicap scooters, one very large) could get up ramp, and fit. If you do that, take along a 3x4 foot piece of 1/2" or thicker plywoold and several 6 or 8" pieces of 2x6 if possible. In order to not high center bike at ramp hinge you will likely need to raise the ramp where it meets the ground by several inches. Blocks do that, plywood covers gap at dirt. Do NOT ride bike up or down ramp, walk it using engine for power, more ground clearance that way.

    Have FUN out there.
  • Sorry might need to say this is a private party not a dealership. Also understand I will need to unload my Harley to use rear area. Not a prob for us.

Just would like to know if this is a good deal or am I paying too much?

This is the floorplan. Altho it's a '13 it still is same one that the '08 has.

If you Not laughing at your own low offer it's then too much!!
  • See if you can find it in a NADA RV book........ If it is close it may be a great deal........... Condition is everything...... If you can't find NADA go to your bank or credit union they should have a price guide & tell if it is a good deal......

Agreed. I wouldn't pay more than 12k and less if it need tires what not.

You know the dealer isn't offering that much.

And make sure your harley clears the top of the ramp where the hinge meets your exhaust
