Photo of your triple axlle frame bracing and reinforcement.

I'm planning to add a sub frame and third axle to my fiver. Anyone willing to post some photos of the undercarriage of your heavier/better built triple axle. If you post a picture please state what your gvwr is along with the photos. The depth of your main frame might be interesting as well.
  • This is what the crossbrace right at the front axle looks like after repair (it broke). Voltage 3950.

    Thanks for the picture. Was it a thin walled 2x2 tube that split?
  • No. If you zoom in, you can see 1/4" rods that formed the original web. Several of those are snapped near the middle. The repair added c channel. The L at the top of the brace was also snapped off at the main frame i-beam.
  • Do keep in mind that on a tri-axle setup the center axle's wheels will scrub and wear faster than the outboard axles / tires. Why on big trucks, at least one of the 3 axles are air lift.
