Looking for a small but durable air compressor for RV and Truck tires. We have gone through a few of them. We find when we are on the road that it is getting harder and harder to find a place where the air hose works or that you can get to with RV. Any suggestions on brands that have worked for you? Thanks

VIAIR 400P-RV Automatic Portable Compressor. Works on 12 volts. Expensive but works well. Does not plug into cigarette lighter, you need to clamp directly to battery. Comes with plenty of hose.

Have a VIAIR also. 8 yrs. now.
Tough little 12V DC compressor.
Pumps up trailer tires to 110#

Used it when needed during our 7 yrs of FT.

How long to get from 65 lbs to 80 lbs with the Viair on tires for a Class C? Tire size 235/85r16

Aside from PSI look at CFM (cubic feet/minute). A high PSI w/low CFM will leave you standing for an hour waiting to pump up a tire. I haul a Craftsman with me that probably weighs 20 lbs. or so. It only runs off of AC so you must also have a generator. The small black lunchbox size DC compressors are handy but you'll be at least a year older by the time your tire is inflated.
