noticed in the propane compartment there are 2 holes in bottom. also at top side is a 2" vent tube that goes about 28" to an outside vent at front of 5th. do I need a top vent with the 2 at bottom.

Am I missing something in this discussion? Propane storage area on my Creek IS NOT a sealed area/compartment. I can see the ground under the bottle mounts.

My Komfort has no bottom to the compartment and the door is fairly sloppy. Never looked up to see if there's another hole but I've never worried about venting it, given the lack of a floor.

The vents not only allow any propane that should vent out the compartment but also allows air to circulate around the cylinders. As you use propane, the cylinders cool down from the propane boiling to replace the vapor that is being used. In high humidity conditions, the cylinder sweats. So ventilation is needed to help dry the cylinders out.

That should work.....IF you can put the hole near the top of the compartment and have it at least half the size of the bottom holes.

Like someone else mentioned, mine does not have any top vents.....but it has no bottom either.

I would want as much as possable. Our tank bays basically don't have bottom just a about 6" steel platform side to side, the rest is open space.

You don't want to create any kind of a pocket for gas to collect in. When you load that compartment with stuff and any gas collects you are making a bomb.

Not completely true.

Unless the bottom hole is VERY large, there needs to be an inlet somewhere to improve the flow.

Having it fall to the bottom of the enclosure and then stay there does no good.

For the propane to flow out, replacement air needs to flow IN somewhere.
Exactly! That hose and top hole is more of an fresh air inlet, rather than a vent.

Most propane storage compartments are open in the bottom. I think you would need all the ventilation you can get.
