Question on digital thermostat, bed hydraulics and 4"foam

2004 Weekend warrior fb2200

Could anyone recommend a decent basic digital thermostat to replace the stock unit?

The foam in my couches are pretty worn down. I've been trying local shops and looking online for 4" foam to replace the cushions at a reasonable price. Anyone know of an online store or shop in southern ca? So far everyone doesn't have the right size or is asking for an arm and leg.

The bed jacks are not as strong as they used to be. The original owner put a larger mattress too. Anyone know where I can find replacements or if I can use a generic length and strength? So far I've only seem them on ebay for $120.

Thank you for your time.

We recently had our fold-up couches in the hauler completely redone, foam and fabric. Cost us $450 for both of them, and we changed the type and look of the fabric. What a difference, brand new and comfy.

Worth the money for sure, and the price we paid to have both re-done was a big discount. If you want his info let me know, he's up in the Lancaster, Ca area.

I did Haps upgrade a couple of years ago when I had my WW and it worked great! His instructions were easy to follow. It should be a sticky. I may do it again on my Jayco; hopefully the wiring is the same.

  • Leichardti,

A few years back I did this upgrade to my WW FSC2800. It was simple, easy, and inexpensive. I used a LUX digital Thermostat that I think I paid about $20.00 for.

I liked this unit as it has a 1/2 degree temperature swing as compared to other units that have 1 degree. 1 degree equals 2 degrees of heat swing which can be a lot when you're asleep.

I needed a small switch to make the set-up work correctly. There are numerous links that tell you how to wire the system but unless you put a switch in the fans don't work correctly.

If you contact me via e-mail I'll send you the directions and pictures. I have never had much luck with posting pictures here.

I consider this one of the best upgrades I've done to my TH. It's nice to have a better sound system, swap to a larger flat screen TV, and other upgrades. But being able to set the temp, turn off the lights, and sleep without being hot or cold is priceless, and I get the right temp first time every time.

  • I'm using this one, easy install & I really like it.

    AMAZON

Unfortunately it has gone up in price by $20 :E

But the reviews are good. :B
  • As for the foam in couches since you're in southern Cal, I'd go to Quartzsite next year. We took ours into a furniture outfit on the north side of the bid tent one afternoon and had them back the next day. We'd already checked on the price of foam and good foam that will last isn't cheap from anyone.

And on the gas struts, just go to Google and type in RV gas struts. I bought some two years ago, but don't remember from who. It might have been

    RV Gas Struts

    Or

    RV Gas Struts.
