Raising Rear Bed in 2004 38' Weekend Warrior (SLC 3705)

I need to raise the rear bed in my weekend warrior 38' to fit my prerunner. The bed is currently 71" from the floor when fully in the upright position and locked. This leaves approx 4 feet of room between the roof and the bed which is considerable and completely unnecessary. I need to raise it by about 10-12". DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A WAY TO DO THIS? PERHAPS A KIT IS MADE SOMEWHERE? It is a Weekend Warrior 5th wheel 38' SLC 3705. I am trying to avoid simply removing the entire bed which I would prefer not to do. Cheers!
  • Thanks so much JMT2. I will give Jim a call in the morning. I appreciate the thought :) Cheers!
  • Warrior did have a option for a high clearance bed in the "non" electric bed models. I think it was just longer shocks. I would contact Jim at SoCal rv doctor 951 471-3840 for the parts (he worked for warrior) I'm sure they can help.

    Good luck!
  • On my old 2005 WW FS3000 I just removed the bed then unscrewed the mounts on each side of the bed frame (believe it was just a piece of angle with the mount for shocks and rear wheel). I then moved the mounts as close to the bottom. Off memory it raised it like 6-8 inches. Just need a couple guys to remove the bed and put back in. Took me a little over an hour to do.
  • Oh yea, forgot it was there. I'm no help, might be a bit of a job though as the pivots/supports are inside the wall, not sure if they extend up so that you could relocate the support points. Might want to look into upgrading to the Happijac system.

It would help if you told us what year your trailer is. WW used a few different styles of rear bunks. If you have the old style with the gas cylinders and rubber deals that hold it up I think you're in for a custom deal, if it's on a chain driven track there are lots of options but I doubt that's what you have.

The year is a 2004 SLC 3705 as stated in the title of my post. the bed is lifted manually by hand on one side and then the other with the assistance of hydraulic shocks.

  • If it is as high on the tracks as it will go you would have to take the bed off and remount the tracks higher on the wall.
