Anybody have a 2021 3500 DRW Ram with a 5th wheel ? Pretty high bed rails on this truck sitting stock. I had a hard time getting under my last 2017 F350 DRW. Once it was connected and weight was on it I had 7" space. I'm more worried about getting under it to even get hitched up.No air bags on this truck.

We don't own a 2021, we have a 2015 but the box on the '15 is 2" deeper than the box was on our '06. That being said I had to raise the hitch to get my clearance (6") causing us to tow nose high even with the RAM set in "alt trailer height". On the '15 we have the factory rear air suspension. "ALT trailer height" setting lowers the truck by an inch but that wasn't enough, we ended up having the suspension on our Mobile Suites raised by 2". That took care of the nose high towing.Good luck with your situation, you're probably going to have to do something similar to what we had to do to get level towing and still have the bed clearance that we're comfortable with.Dan

This is why I just ordered a 2021 F250 two wheel drive. 4 wD trucks are just too high to hitch up to some 5th wheel trailers. What's with this new mandate on 4WD trucks? They've had a race with the torque numbers of the diesel offerings and now a race to see who can build the tallest 4WD !!!!

That's why I am still driving my 07. All the new trucks are to high for the older 5th wheels. I was all set to order new when I found that the rail heights are about the same as the overhang height of my 2005 Cardinal. I still haven't decided whether to fix up the old truck body wise or get a new truck and change to a flat bed. I am thinking of fixing the old as the wife is starting to complain about getting into the old so there is no way she would be happy getting up into the newer trucks.

When my new F250 2WD came in I put a new B&W hitch in and guessed at the bolt hole settings. It actually came out about the same as the old truck!!No height or clearance problems and the 5th wheel sit level. Just stay away from 4WD and you should be fine on new trucks.

Something you guys can compare to. My 15 DRW with Factory Rear Air Ride in ALT position sets the truck nearly level with the rear about 1" high. That puts the top back corners of the bed 55" from the ground. This height is constant whether towing with a 6k pin or running solo.

That is what's so nice about the Rear air Ride on the 3500 RAM's it keeps the loaded and unloaded bed height at 55" top of tailgate.

Well that right there would make me change my mind about Rear air ride , 55" would be perfect , might even have to raise the hitch to get level .

Six years and 83k later it's been 100% trouble free.

My 2020 F350 is exactly 2" lower than my 2016 F350 at the tailgate

Lucky guy ,I wish this 2014 Ram was the same height as my old 99 Superduty . :)

Since I do not need 4WD I did opt for the electronic rear locker differential on my new F250. My old Dodge had a limited slip differential and I think sometimes that did not work as the truck got old. Those clutches must wear out eventually. The electic locker hopefully will always be there when I need it.

I have a 2007 4x4 Ram and it is the perfect height for my 2014 Winnebago fifth wheel. I do have a Superglide hitch which I believe is a bit higher than most others. If I ever replace this truck I have no idea what to do as so many point out the new 4x4 trucks are too high and I use 4wd.
