Like someone else noted, I would not have accepted those tires. When I bought my 8008's at DT, I specifically told them I wanted the date codes to be within 3-4 months of purchase. The ones I rec'd were 9 weeks old. I also uprated to LRE. These tires replaced the infamous Akurets that were installed at the factory, only kept them on for one season. The 8008's have been on the rig for 2 seasons now, so far so good, very happy with them. Sold the Akurets on CL for $100:B

I ordered mine from Amazon and they were just a few weeks old.

Some dealers stock Maxxis, but they are a more costly tire then something like a Tow Max. It's a competitive business and the dealers want to be able to have the lowest price when a customer walks in to buy. And inventory costs money.

I bought 4 Maxxis tires from Plains Tires, a 10 location chain in Wyoming. I had to order them because they didn't have my size in stock, but they did have other sizes at the store - I saw them on the rack. I had to wait a couple days. No big deal.

Well I just ordered 2 new Maxxis tires. I only need one, but figured I would do both on the axle. Will be going from LRD to LRE. I will order two more this coming spring. Current tires have a 2013 build date so hoping they make it 2 years from build date. Hopefully thats not too much to ask!

The tires seem fine. My F-250 V-10 came with Pirellis? 265-70-17. My first trip was to AZ from MI. New tires on the 5'r and TV. Got about a mile less per gallon. Lot more tread on LT than ST. Smooth and quiet almost no lead on balance.

How do you like the R500HD's. I have not driven that much on mine. Costco tire tech asked why I was installing a commercial grade tire on my pickup. I said that most of the miles were towing my 5th wheel, and I wanted really good tires! Then he said they did not match the door jam sticker, and I said they are the factory optional rims and LT265/75R16E's!

Chris, you obviously have good taste. The TV got 500 HD and the Cedar Creek got TransForce HT. Both made in the same plant in Canada.

I wanted Maxxis, but needed tires =today=, so went with the Carlisles as the best of the worst. I just couldn't wait the 48 hours for the Maxxis to be delivered from the Discount warehouse. I'm already up a load rating from the placard, so I don't have =too= many qualms about them.

I was thinking of going with the towmaster from les schwab because I will be up a rating from my placard.
I will be going from D to E. My gvwr is only 10,300.

Thought about the Blowmasters, but the guys at DT were all running Carlisles on their trailers, so decided to go with them. I know several on a personal level, so was getting info without the sales pitch.

But in fairness your small 5th wheel does not tax tires like the larger ones do! I owned a 1996 26' single slide Terry 5th wheel that had 15" LRC Marathon's. We bought it new in Jan 1997 and traded it in June 2004 with the OEM tires still on it. Chris

I was run earlier. It would be the Blow Max at Les Schwab.
