Raptor 3018 Water Tank Straps
I pulled my trailer out over the weekend to get ready for the riding season. While looking underneath I noticed over the axles the black plastic cover looked like it was pregnant. I remember a friend telling me he actually lost the tank out of his 3018. I pulled down the cover and found all 4 straps badly bowed. I also found one of the screws holding one of the straps backed out and hand loose. Actually amazed that Keystone would use tek screws to retain the water tank straps??????
The straps were actually made of 1 1/2" C channel and were beefy but really needed to be square tubing. They just couldn't handle the pounding of the weight of over 100 gallons. Without enough tubing on hand I boxed in the straps with 1 1/2" flat stock and re-enforced the mounting tabs. I drilled out the mounting holes and used stainless hardware to re-install the straps.
I don't think the tank is going anywhere now!
