- MookieKatExplorerI really like this Bighorn floorplan, because of the back window and especially the rolling island, which allows the space to be more flexible, but it has no pantry and will only accommodate a combo W/D.
Are these enough cabinets for full-time living? Are they enough without a pantry?
Can anyone make suggestions on how to make it work, or another make and model with this type or rear kitchen (with rolling island) with a pantry and stackable W/D capabilities?
I guess if there is no rolling island, I can always buy one to add, but there has to be ample space for it...the floorplan on the perimeter needs to be very similar...no peninsulas jutting out, etc.
Thanks in advance! - MookieKatExplorer

I was just over on rvtrader.com and saw a nice 2009 Forest River Cardinal 36'rear kitchen it had the all in one bath, 3 slides, and full body paint. It is located in Myrtle Beach SC. Price sounded really good if it is as good as it looks. $27,900.
And no I don't know the person selling this unit It just says private seller.
Thank you so much! You are so very kind! We are looking at new now. I would like models of NEW rigs at present. Thank you! - MookieKatExplorer

Thing to watch for is...where is the washer/dryer located? And are you limited to a combo all in one unit or stackable, or separate side by side.
The combo washes and dries with two different cycles in the same unit. Takes about 3 hours in total. Many who use this unit have a portable clothesline for drying. Really cuts the cycle time, so more wash can be done. The outside vented unit dries a little faster. Load size is small. Appliance cost about $1200. Installation cost about 300 on a fully prepped trailer. If weight is a concern this is the lightest option.
Stackable (separate washer and dryer) is a bit larger, but still kind of small. A bit more expensive initial purchase. But you can wash in one and dry in the other. Usually the space for them is narrow and tall.
Side by side is the largest capacity for RV's. about 7 lbs max. This option is heaviest. Can wash in washer while drying in dryer. Wash cycle approx 30 min. Dry cycle approx 1 hr. The space for Side By side units needs to be about 60" Wide by 24 deep and 37 High. Top load washer needs to have more vertical clearance. Very few trailers have the space available for the side by side system.
Appliances/accessories cost about $1400 Splendide on sale. And about $300 installation for vent kit, hold down brackets, and washer/dryer, in a fully prepped trailer.
What ever you buy, make sure it has an outside vent system for the dryer.
All are trade off's. All may be dictated by the space available in the trailer.
Just something for you to consider.
Wow!! It almost sounds like it would be better not to bother with one!! - Jerry_and_GloriExplorerMookie

If you are looking for used, we love our Keystone Everest 293P. Rear kitchen w/ washer dryer prep and king size bed. Just under 33 feet. Newer model is the 2008 322R Everest which has an all in one bath. Good luck in your search!
Thank you!! Very nice plan!! The one with the all in one bath! It has many things on our wish list! It packs a lot of punch and I love the huge space for the TV! We could get a really large screen TV in there! We have a 55" at home, so we are spoiled by the size! Once you see large, it is hard to go back to small!
However, I did not see a washer/dryer prep in the one that I googled. I guess it must have been an option?
If you google 2008 Keystone Everest Brochure, it will show you the washer dryer prep is included in the 322R. Scroll to the bottom where the standard equipment and options are listed.
We have a 60" TV at home and a 43" in the coach. With the viewing distance, not much of a difference we dont think - Me_AgainExplorer IIIExcel owners are generally very happy with the factory support, however not that happy that they have had to use it for major things like LEAKS. The ones we have/had in our snowbird park make many stops at the factory for service, and it was in route for most of them.
I do not know how well they support used ones, but original owners seem to get good service for many years.
Chris - The_Mad_NorskyExplorerExcel by Peterson Industries, Smith Center Kansas builds just an excellent and very highly regarded line of fifth wheels.
Yep, they're a little higher than the run of the mill fifth wheel, but priced less than most new Mobile Suites you will find. At least according to the RV Trader dot com site.
The link I furnish goes to the Excel Limited model. They also have a Winslow model in about this same floorplan. Major difference between Limited and Winslow is Limited have full fiberglass roof.
Excel Limited 36RKM rear kitchen model.
Washer and dryer compartment is up front in the bedroom, prepped and ready for instal. Also please note they can make the bathroom in any of about four different designs for you.
Also, I noted your questions over in the full time forum. If going full time, then the Excel will solve all your questions you had, save for a dishwasher. And maybe even that could be added to an Excel. - MookieKatExplorer
