Remote on Montana

Hi everyone I'm new here, I have a question, Has anyone ever had the remote open their slides without telling it to?
A good friend had this happen, the first thing that happened was the manual switches stoped working, then when he parked the camper beside his home the slides started extending there was a lot of damage before he could get the battery unhooked.
Just wondering if this is a problem with remote systems?

Another question, does anyone make a remote just for the landing gear?

Thank you for your input
  • To extend the slides with my Montana remote, I need to press two buttons in sequence. So it is unlikely that your remote is the culprit if it works like mine.
  • Bigfoot levelers make a remote. It works great and was a great addition to the system.

    Enjoy the road.

  • I never thought of another remote interfering with his, we used the manual slot and a reversible drill to get them back in.
The unit is being repaired and we are going to put a battery disconnect on it when they are done to keep anything like this from happening again.
    Thanks again for your help
  • Both of my remote receiver modules have an on/off switch on the side. Maybe turning them off prior to travel is a good idea? My front jacks and power awning are also controlled by the same remote receivers.
  • The receiver was probably programmed the same as someone else using nearby remote..

Our neighbor could open our garage door until I changed the program on our our receiver/unit.
