Removing peeling decals easily?

I just finished taking the name decals off my 03 Montana. I used a single edge razor blade and a hair dryer. It took less than an hour to do the large front one. The smaller one on the side peeled better and only took 20 minutes. The front one was more brittle and didn't peel very good. I used a scaffold to work the front one. I have the new decals to put on. I got them from Burlington Graphics last year after I found out they made graphics for most of the RV makers. However their website http://burlingtongraphics.com/ today shows they have temporarily stopped making decals. Putting the new ones on looks like a breeze. I just have to clear with alcohol first.

I took them off with a hair dryer and PLASTIC putty knife. Any residue came off with Goo Gone. Not a fun job

Ya a heat can damage the gel coat -permenantly once that happens its not restorable

Been on here often.

"Remove Decals" - in *search* will produce good results.
Not to many posts to look at - and some good info from 2012.

Probably lots more threads/posts in the archives (over 12 months old).

it was more than likely the sun that caused the decals to come off in the first place, so has he tried a heat gun ? just keep the gun moving and they should just peal off.

This seems to be a relatively common problem among Montanas in the 04-09 model years. We have been looking at used 5ers over the past several months and have seen quite a few Montanas with this issue. We occasionally see other models, but not with any frequency like the Montana, although I know it's no. 1 in sales so there are more of them out there.

And Keystone/Montana does not offer replacement decals for purchase either. Not very good advertising.
