Ford vehicles---peeling paint?

Best thing to do when something new comes out is sit on the side lines for a couple of years. I heard denting was a problem which seems highly likely but you would think great minds would have thought of that. Talked to a happy camper who sold insurance he put it this way :The new technology beefing up small engines to get them to perform like V8s works but if the vehicle is in a accident the cost to repair engines equipped with all this new technology some times forces us to total the vehicle sooner than other wise would be. He was driving a new Chevrolet pickup. What ever keep gas prices in mind I heard Trump wants a quarter a gal to fix roads, our state is panting over a chance to raise the state tax, summer blend is coming, and its moving up per barrel on its own. Then you have some senators who think the answer is more toll roads and higher tolls on those we have now. Anyone working on a electric pickup that will tow 8000lbs?

My 2012 Ram 2500 has great paint and the dash isn't cracked. I even have several small dime size dents from a hail storm and the paint never peeled where those are.
Guess they fixed those issues.

GM had a major problem in the early 90's when they switched to the water based paint. I was lucky to have two 90's GM vehicle's with this issue. 454 SS and a Blazer. There statement to me was (At this time we choose not to honor the warranty) my statement to them (At this time I choose not to purchase any more GM vehicle's) and I kept my word.

I remember Chrysler in the late '70's silver paint used to peel off.

These are work trucks used for work and not setting in a garage getting waxed or used for some project to demonstrate how to remove decals and pretty stuff. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but these are farm trucks used for work and getting washed and waxed or applying some shield on the dash is way low on the priority.

So how much of that damage was already there when you bought the Ram. I have a fleet of 50+ trucks that I am in charge of and the Rams have faired better than any of them body and interior wise. They all get beat on.Explain that.

We also have a 03 Super Duty that has some dent's on the bed as well. The paint is in way better shape and no fading or peeling. Even the dash is in good shape. About the only thing that's showing wear is the leather seats are starting to tear.

These are work trucks used for work and not setting in a garage getting waxed or used for some project to demonstrate how to remove decals and pretty stuff. As for my current '12 Super Duty the paint and dashboard still looks like new.

Of course they did.... One wouldn't expected you to report any different.

It wasn't abused either. And what abuse caused the dashboard to fall to pieces?

I guess different people look at "abused" differently. If had a truck that sat in full sun day in day out i would have the dash covered or conditioned. As far as the bed side in the picture, if it has dents then it's abused. By the looks of it, It's probably had the paint washed off of it from all the washes and waxes it's seen. My 2005 still looks as good as new inside, out and under. Matter of fact, I would be willing to better it's in better shape than your 2012 F250 with the same miles on it. Why? Because I take care of it and before you say it, yes it gets used but not abused. I haul stuff inside the bed not on it. I don't lean against it and I don't throw things over the side or back. I put the tailgate down when needed to protect the truck.
