Retractable truck bed covers?

Pace-Edwards. Several years old and works and looks great. Really like it and highly reccomend it. Mine is an older one that has a built in light and a remote, and lock. With a locking tailgate secures the back better than the cab. Easily clears my aux fuel tank and the B&W Companion.

I just went through this exact thing, I decided on a Tonno-Pro because of a couple of reasons.
1. I didn't want rails since my pin box could hit the rails and damage them.
2. I decided that buying a soft tri fold because I can buy three of these for the cost of a hard cover tri fold.

Roll Bak G2- no problems with our air ride hitch and room underneath for our auxillary fuel tank against the cab. About $1000 and worth every penny!

We have Retrax Pro on our Ford. Lockable and slides very easy. Very water tight. A bit pricey but worth the extra bucks. Purchased from Auto Anything free shipping & 10% off if you ask. EZ to install.

I've got the P-E rolltop on my truck. It has always leaked from the tailgate side, and I would even wager money that I have to get into the main "can" with silicone and caulk the pair of drains into place. Those are my two trouble spots.

Worst for me is that the hitch (Curt 20K on the R-20 slider) extends above the truck bed rails. I always have to remove the head from the body in order to get the top to close. Next time I hitch, if I remember, I'll measure the heights and see if I can lower the hitch body on the slider without whacking the RV into the top of the bed rails.

I have an Extang Trifecta cover. Had it for 4 years.....no problems at all. If my next truck doesn't have one, that's what I'd buy.

I have a Rollback brand tonneau cover I bought new in 2005. I must say, it is nothing but a piece of junk. Water enters the canister and does not drain. The cover itself does not stay centered when opening and closing. There is nothing to guide the cover so that it stays centered. Plus, this cover was not cheap in price!

I bought a tri-fold fabric cover from off Ebay for $175. Looks great, water proof, dry bed, totally functional and not necessary to remove while towing my 5er. It can be completely removed in 5 minutes and since my tailgate locks it provides a level of security. Sure, someone could cut it to gain access to the bed, but they could also cut the top of my Corvette convertible to gain access to that vehicle. Either way, I do not leave valuables in either place

A bit redundant but I also have the Backflip. It is strong and sturdy. I would not have a truck without one.

Decided to order the BakFlip F1. Found a great deal for $775 from an authorized vendor. Will take a week or so to get here.
