Sandstorm 282SLR, Shockwave 28RQDX, Stealth FQ2817

Hi All, looking for feedback on any of these 3 rigs. They are virtually identical according to a Forest River rep I spoke with yesterday. From the back ramp to the fridge is 17' 9"

It can be bought in both Aluminum side as well as fiberglass. The price difference from my dealer is $2,044 more for fiberglass. Trying to determine if it's worth it to pay more for fiberglass.

The specs are:
GVWR 12100 lbs.
Hitch Weight 1147 lbs.
UVW 7945 lbs.
CCC 4155 lbs.
Exterior Length 35' 0"
Exterior Height 12' 7"
Exterior Width 102"
Fresh Water 106 gal.

    Yes definately go for the finerglass siding. Much better temp and noise insulation vs aluminum. Easier to clean and just looks 100x better. Only advantage Al siding has is some weight savings.

    Other aluminum benefits I can think of are if you get damage in an area, its much easier to fix. Those are individual panels, they simply order them, pop them off, put new ones on, re-apply stickers. Not so simple with the fiberglass.

    Keep great insurance and I guess that wont be a concern though.

    i will go with fiberglass looks much better and easier to clean and wax.

    Ok got the final cost and the difference between Fiberglass and aluminum sides was $3,090.
    So we are going aluminum. Just don't want to spend that much. Got it for a little over $34k before tax and license.

    Not so much of a thing of the past. I just had my 2015 delaminating and big issues. They ended buying the unit back.

    Well my dealer called me up and they gave me the option to go with the fiberglass for $1250 so we are doing it. It's supposed to be delivered to our dealer by March 25th.

    Anyone else pick up this model yet? and if so looking for feedback and gotchas etc.

    Hi, I ended up getting the Shockwave T28RQG (The Fiberglass version of the T28RQDX)
