Should I worry about freezing?

It is. However we would like some limited use for two nights on the road and a night there. I will drain everything but not blow the lines when we leave.

We live in Houston, and I never winterize. I only drain the tanks, let the water pump push out what it can from the lines, and put it away. Never had a problem so far.

I would not leave it full of water, but I would not be concerned with anything more than that. Enjoy your winter.

Crystal River is generally a little warmer than Orlando due to proximity to the Gulf and I have never winterized in 12 years of having a fiver parked in the back yard all winter (except when we are on the road, of course.)

My Wife & I will drop our camper off in Homasassa, FL just after Thanksgiving, stay for several days and fly back home to Maine.

We will return to Florida January 2nd. We do not winterize our unit at anytime while in Florida.

Two years ago it got down to 20 degrees one night in Homasassa. Then it rose to 50 degrees during the day. The thing that we had to pay attention to was the exposed copper pipe coming up out of the ground to the sill cock that feeds the camper water. Nothing to do with the camper itself.

I live in Maine. I have found over the years that a 1/2" pipe will freeze before a 6 or 12 gallon water tank. Also, it will be two - three consecutive days of freezing temperatures that will actually create a major problem, such as; cracking and splitting 1/2 inch copper water lines.

Freezing temperatures over night and then the temperatures rising during the day allow the lines to thaw. Hense, no freezing issues.

I think you will be fine....tanks drained and water heater drained.......I live only 25 miles south of Crystal river and don't winterize.....I go camping all winter......

Unattended in FL until you arrive, I would just open all the low points, water heater and fixtures while you where gone, that way even if a cold snap where to come through and stay long enough for the remote chance of a freeze up of the lines there will be room for expansion and avoid a blow out.

I use my RV until thanksgiving in the local mid-atlantic area, and right about now is when I start doing that just in case we get a decent couple days of cold weather. If we are looking at true week of below freezing at night and near freezing during the day I will make the trip out to the trailer to pump in the pink stuff. Otherwise, I winterize at the end of thanksgiving weekend and call it a season (until my FL trip in January.)

Don't know about hell but I've had frozen water hose in Crystal River in February before. Minimum I would look at is low point drains and water heater and fresh tank drained.

When we had a Stick & Bricks and lived Tallahassee FL, (Several hundred miles North of Crystal River) we never winterized or drained anything (we kept our holding tanks empty when the RVs were parked behind the house).
We had TTs and 5ers for 30 years, never had anything freeze or any damage.
If it gets to freezing temps, it just does no get below freezing long enough to do any damage.
