I went without one for several years. 1000.00 to buy a new rear window. Thus I got a s.g. The SG is an excellent hitch. Traded for a DRW with puck system, so went for a B&w puck hitch. Loved the SG but really like the DRW.

I have a super glide as well. Don't know if I really need it but it works and works well. Do not know what it would be like with out either. So I have it and it works so I am happy.

I have a Super Glide. Have no idea how much I need it, just know that it works and it's worry free.

I have owned a slider for 10 years. Used it 3 times, but haven't found a situation that couldn't be handled with a little extra jockeying back and forth. Haven't used it in the past 8 years and with newer fifth wheels with notched front cap, I can't see using it any more. Recently found my old fixed legs, so I repainted them and that is what is on the truck now.

When we had our 29' Avion 5er we used it all the time. Our current unit (see signature) came with a sidewinder pin box and we haven't needed it since. We can now turn the steering all the way to lock and do circles. What a hoot! Saved my life when I got into a cul-de-sac in Monterrey, CA and had to do a u-turn at the end of the street.

You can definitely find spots to use a sliding hitch. The biggest issue with sliders is the pin box getting into the bed, you got to keep an eye on that. I would not want to be without one, unless you have an 8' box.

I just got my slider and I need it to turn around in my cul-de-sac. So for me, every time I put it away I need the slider.

Two years, haven't needed it yet but that is fine by me. I still would have it.

Not often enough unfortunately. I put the front cap thru the rear window when I got stuck in front of a low bridge.
