Storage tool box thoughts

Greetings all,

Am looking to add a storage box in the back of the truck to hold tool box, fluids, filters etc. and I ran across this. Does anyone have this style if so problems issues?

Any thoughts on its easy of use?

  • Where did you find this? I really like that it's not up hanging onto the side of the truck.
  • Found this at pickuptrucktoolboxes.com but also its on ebay... with free shipping and no tax..

They also have a version that is top load, but I wanted this style to put the actual tool box I carry for repairs.
  • I have the Highway Products 'Partner' tool box....past 7 yrs.
Low profile....secure, leak proof and I can open it with 5vr hitched & tailgate up

  • To bad this V-box is no longer made. Whole top half opens, so it holds our two golf bags. Chris

  • I have the flat lid-all low style partner box-would've preferred a V but found a deal!

I keep the big tool box in the fiver-the shallow box works well for parts pieces and supplies-I honestly keep all the junk that used to bounce around the bed in the partner box and the style you show would not be convenient for me.

Now-the plus to the box you found is easy access when hitched up! I have a fuel/tool combo that I keep stuff in I think I may need when hitched...

X2 but for 6 years. I carry my Dewalt 1 gallon 135 psi portable air compressor and air hose, 50 amp power cord and 30'extension and a pair of Rotochoks.

When we first started rving (six years ago) and not to long after I had installed the Highway Products storage boxes I lowered the 5th wheel hitch pin right down on the lit of the box and it did not damage it at all. Very well made. Pricey, yes, but I believe worth it.
