It could be an expensive experiment. I have Towmax on my toyhauler and Les Schwab has replaced 7 tires under warranty in the last 2 years. Luckly so far I have cought them before they came apart an damaged my trailer. With that being said I have them on approx 6 pther trailers that are not as heavy as a tow hauler and have hod no problem.

I consider the Tow Max an experiment. I've had Maxxis, Goodyear, and several other brands with only one minor tred delamination in 30 some years of towing.

If you can get someone to actually reply to you, they will give you $108 credit toward the purchase of a new piece of $H!t to replace the one that tore up your camper.

Jim is correct . An LT265/75-16E has never come OEM on a 6.5" truck wheel .
GM shipped millions of 2500 and HD 2500 trucks with a 6.5" x 16" steel or aluminum wheel .
With a 245/75R16E tire on them .
A 245 is simply not much of a tire for those trucks .
I was conservative at saying that 20 % of those GM trucks now have 265/75 on them instead of the stock 245/75 size .
It is probably more like 40 % here in Central Oregon .
I have been running the 265/75R16 size on my factory GM snow tire wheels since 1997 .
For my summer tires I upgraded to Weld aluminum wheels that are 8 inches wide .
I stack the wheel/tires not in season in a corner of my garage .
I can tell you that the stack is 2 inches higher for the summer 265 tires mounted on the 8 inch wide wheel .
When I stack the four 265/75 snows on the 6.5" wheel the stack is a couple inches lower .
As a remedy for the OP it is actually an advantage to mount the 265/75 on a 6.5" width wheel .

That 6.5 combination w/265 is about 1 /2" narrower than the 8 inch wheel & 265 tire combo .
Plus , the advantage of using the wheels he already owns allows that money to be spent on better tires , where it does the most good .
If he does not have adequate width in his wheel well then an LT 245/75r16E or the LT 235/85r16E may be his only option .
I have had no issues with the 265 mounted on the GM 6.5" rim for 17 years .
Nor have my friends .
I see a lot of early 2000 dodges with the 265/75 but I do not know the rim width .

My guess is that 20 % plus have done this upgrade .
265/75 mounted on a 6.5" wheel is not an issue at all , it is a time proven upgrade .

A LT265/75-16 E has never came OEM on a trailer wheel nor OEM a 6.5" truck wheel nor do we see LT265's them on trailers.
The 6.5" wheel width is not a recommended wheel width from any tire manufacturer for a 265/75 tire.

Some folks have upgrade their OEM LT245/75-16 E to the LT265 on their trucks 6.5" wheels. Many folks tried it, including myself, and didn't like the balloned tread effects and issue it creates.
